I am a Brand

How much does it cost to sponsor an athlete?

Athlete sponsorship costs vary widely depending on the athlete's following, sport, and the type of deal. Here's a quick guide:

By athlete tier:

  • Nano (1k–10k followers): $100–500/post, or product only

  • Micro (10k–100k followers): $500–2,500/post

  • Mid-tier (100k–500k followers): $2,500–10,000/post

  • Pro / macro (500k+ followers): $10,000+

Cash vs. product:

You can sponsor athletes with cash, product, or a combination. Many micro-athletes accept product-only deals — especially if they genuinely use your product. Higher-profile athletes typically require cash compensation.

What you get:

Each athlete's profile on OpenSponsorship shows their follower count, engagement rate, sport, and deal preferences. You'll know what you're getting before making an offer.

Most brands starting out see strong results in the $2,000–$5,000/month range, working with 3–5 micro-athletes simultaneously.
